Training for Designer (T4D) 

Course purpose: 

Train technical designers to take advantage of the benefits of bending technology during product design and conception. 

Encourage the development and implementation of solutions that not only meet product requirements and functions but also streamline downstream production processes.  

Duration and Schedule: 

The course spans 1.5 consecutive days: 

Day One: 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, with a lunch break from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. 

Day Two: Begins at 8:30 am and concludes at 12:00 pm (noon) – Optional

 

Where does it take place: 

At the Salvagnini Campus Hamilton, OH 

Requirements for Participants: 

To enable effective guidance during the course, attendees are asked to provide models of their current sheet metal parts. While direct redesigning of the parts will not take place, participants will receive tailored advice for potential redesigns. These models should be submitted in advance, no later than 14 days prior to the course start date, in 3D format along with accompanying prints in PDF format. 

 

Course structure: 

The course is divided into the following phases: 

Day 1 

• Classroom overview of the customer’s panel bender configuration.
• An in-depth examination of the panel bender currently owned by the customer or soon to be supplied.
• This session will comprehensively cover all components and available options, highlighting their respective advantages and characteristics. 
• Comprehensive demonstrations: Detailed videos showcasing various options and bending solutions will be presented. 
• Inspection of Panel Benders in the Campus Showroom, examining machine components and previously mentioned options, followed by the production of demo parts (standard demo panels). 
• Explanation of the machine’s data sheet, including technical specifications and bending limitations (such as bending geometries and applicable materials). 
• Evaluation of key parts for the customer, assessing feasibility and exploring potential new solutions. 

Day 2 (Optional) – half day 

• Continue discussion from previous day 
• Overview of the Samples room in the Campus Showroom.  

The course can be adapted according to the needs that are expressed during the discussion. 

Attendee Capacity: 

Between four and eight participants.
